I participated in "SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026," Asia's largest global innovation conference, hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government!

"SusHi Tech Tokyo" is an abbreviation for Sustainable High City Tech Tokyo, and is a global event promoted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government with the concept of "realizing a sustainable city with high technology." It showcases challenges to solve urban problems and the wide range of attractions of Tokyo to both domestic and international audiences, and envisions, discusses, and implements the future of cities.

"Solving Future Urban Challenges" as Seen Through Tokyo's Appeal and Innovation

"SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026," held at Tokyo Big Sight in April 2026, focused on the social innovation areas of "AI," "robotics," "resilience," and "entertainment."

In addition to the business days on April 27th and 28th, a public day was held on the 29th.
The event attracted approximately 61,000 participants from a record-breaking 103 countries and regions, including major Japanese companies engaged in open innovation, domestic and international startups, investors, and local governments and universities across Japan.

In addition, 798 startups from around the world exhibited (compared to 607 last time). Among them, Taiwan had the most with 43 companies, followed by Singapore, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, India, Egypt, and many other countries, where demonstrations, exhibits, and presentations of cutting-edge technologies took place.

On the opening day, Prime Minister Takaichi visited the event and congratulated the organizers of "SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026." She stated that "a strong economy requires superior scientific and technological capabilities as its foundation," and expressed her hope that Japan would further contribute to economic growth and, by extension, to solving global challenges.

It's like a festival of the future! There are also spaces to enjoy tea ceremonies and gourmet food.

The venue featured a "tea room" where visitors could enjoy matcha tea, as well as a food corner offering Japanese cuisine and alcoholic beverages, creating a festive atmosphere. Various opportunities were offered to experience the charm of Tokyo, its entertainment, and its culture.

On the final day, April 29th, a public day was held for the general public, featuring tours of the booths of overseas startups and workshops, attracting many families with children and students.
